April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic medal. She is among a few female players of beach volleyball that be able to do so. In Tokyo over the next several days, she'll be aiming to claim her third Olympic medal along with the first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross aims to earn an Olympic first gold medal but she's also hoping to win more. It could be the last opportunity she gets as she is 39 years old. Nevertheless, she remains confident of achieving top honours. Ross was quoted in NBC Boston as saying that if you play your highest, and even perform well, you will win the gold. Also, I'll take some luck. Ross was born in Costa Mesa, California in the year 1982. Her parents and her sister lived there. She went on to compete in numerous sports at Newport Harbor High School. She played basketball and ran track in addition to her indoor volleyball achievements as a prep athlete. She was definitely a cut above the rest in the latter sport. According to her bio, she was a middle blocker and outside hitting volleyball player throughout her time in high school. The award was presented to her as one of the Gatorade National Circle of Champions player of the year in 1999 due to her accomplishments. In 2000, the Orange County Athlete of the Month award was also won by her in volleyball. Ross and Klineman are performing their roles in 2017. The reality is that Ross was a major player on the beach volleyball circuit before joining the duo. It's true that she's won multiple big tournaments and one partner was a renowned volleyball player. In the period 2007 until 2013, she was a team with Jennifer Kessy who more recently was Klineman's coach. Kessy was Ross's teammate at the 2009 World Championships. They won a Silver Medal in the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the team of legends that was the winners of the 2012 Olympics in London, beat their opponents to claim the gold medal. It was fate that had them. Ross became Walsh Jennings' new partner as May-Treanor stepped down. They both went on to take home the bronze beach volleyball medal at the Rio Olympics in 2016 along with Walsh Jennings. Ross started her college time with the Trojans at USC in high school. This was years before Ross went to the sand and turned professional. Ross had an impressive run through college. She was a All-American and Pac-10 freshman of the year in the year 2000, a young freshman. She also helped the Trojans get to into the Final Four. The second season of her career she suffered a devastating personal loss and still managed to earn the honor of being named an All-American. Over the course of her final two seasons, she took the Trojans up to the summit and clinched consecutive national championships. In 2003-2004, Ross was named as the most successful collegiate female volleyball player in the United States by the Honda Sports Award. Ross, an USC international relations student, was a star in volleyball. Margie Ross did not see her daughter reach the top of beach volleyball. Ross's mom died from breast carcinoma in the year 2001. Ross had just become a second-year student at USC. Her mother is still close to her heart. Margie is a source of inspiration throughout her life, as well as on the beaches.
